Something tells me that the White House never though about the possibility that Cuba may have a list of demands that must be met before any restoration of ties .... that all that they saw was a "bold announcement" that would make President Obama appear as a statesman .... praise from their friends in the media and on the left .... and support within the international community that the U.S. was now not only listening to ..... but also sympathetic to the needs and demands of Latin America.



Well .... Raoul Castro's demands have now changed all of that .... especially his demand for economic compensation .... and I can easily see the White House going into damage control in trying to explain what this is all about. My prediction .... this Castro demand has blindsided them .... and the fact that they have said nothing so far tells me that they were caught by surprise.

Hypothetically speaking (I know it is unlikely) but picture a plague or pandemic that wipes out a very high % of the population say anything between 30-75%



In reality how long would all the can goods that are currently about last?



I ask because in the walking dead they are around 2 years into it and yet still are finding a number of canned goods.

Artesian Well

We just purchased a place "up north" which we will be using for down time as well as another bug-out location should it be needed.



It has an artesian well on the property as well as a small pond. When we took the cap off the well, the water looks to be about 8' down.



I am very uneducated about this, so please forgive the basic level question, but with the water being so close to the surface, would it be possible and feasible to put a hose down the well ,and create a siphon to get it to continually flow into the pond (creating an ever running trickle of water), or would I be better suggesting we install a hand pump?



I am excited about the prospect of not having to worry about the quantity of water, but still need to be able to extract it.

In a nutshell this guy had insomnia and sought medical attention. Insomnia lead to depression and again he sought medical attention. Because of this he was deemed suicidal and his guns were taken away. THIS is why I have been saying we absolutely cannot deny somebody their 2nd amendment rights based on a mental evaluation. Who then deems what's mentally fit and safe?

Who has cut this stuff? I have not. What I am looking for is a way to cut it other than just straight line or 90s. A way to cut out a shape. Lay a pattern on a tile and chop it out! I got a few left over and was thinking, if for nothing other than a conversation piece, whittle a small blade out of one.

So in the convoluted world we live in, NYS and CT attorneys argued in support of their gun control measures, that the goal of promoting public safety is supported (rationally related) to the provisions of their laws, including the SAFE

Act 1 feature test and the 10 round limit. (Really they wanted a 7 round limit).



It was argued that for self defense, it is well established that only 2-3 rounds are actually needed as most incidents involve only a few rounds. It was argued that the fear of a need for more rounds is irrational.
