There will be juice you can save. The ruby red are the sweetest. Bags of lemons or limes seem to get old, I'll have to try dehydrating slices or immediately zest, juice, and freeze into ice cubes.

Odd thing I've noticed this year in my city is how many new folks are planting various citrus in their front yards as ornamentation.

In the past I would see it planted in back yards for private use, but now everyone is planting them out front on the grass strip between the sidewalk and the street. It's getting common enough that on many streets you wouldn't even need to leave your car to snag a piece of fresh citrus anytime the urge hit you.

I like the trend.

Yeah, so all that above is just mind wanderings. So let me put in a citrus suggestion to try.

Pomello. It's like this huge looking grapefruit with outer skin and pith that's like a half inch thick. A really thick outer coating.

But the segments are so large you can even peel the thin inner skins off the individual segments so all you have are the juicy little nodules inside all staying in the shape of the segment. Peeling it is kind of part of the whole entertainment of it. And the taste is like a mix between orange and grapefruit. It's own unique taste unlike any other citrus. It would be awesome for fresh juice.

Hard to find in stores and can be expensive when you find them, but they grow as easy as any other citrus in your yard. Maybe even easier. Since you probably want to try it before you grow one then check the Asian stores. They have it a lot more than American stores.
