Cooking with your vehicles engine

I have heated up cans of food like soup and beef stew by putting it on my engine manifold while driving. Even cooked hotdogs like that. Just wrap them in foil. This was mostly done on hunting/fishing trips. Why waste time starting a fire when you have a hot engine. Anyone else ever do that?
