A good friend of mine is a FFL gunsmith. He says that in the fine print when you install the NICS software, that you agree to give the ATF full access to all of your computer.

The computer you use for NICS needs to be its own computer. Do not surf the internet on that computer. Do not read email on it. Do not post to this forum on that same computer.
