When I was in high school, I bought a car to get to and from work.
After going to a couple dozen businesses, I finally got an interview after talking to a someone at Best Buy.
I was hoping to get at least a few months of work before joining the military.
My delayed entry program ended and it was time to ship out.
I told the lady I had to go to the military and I couldn't work there.
So, I couldn't get the job I wanted selling electronics.
In California, about all the big businesses around are not interested in hiring you if you have no employment history or gaps in employment and also no higher education.
I know a guy that was making decent income working at a plant without a high school diploma and when he moved out of town to his family and his truck broke down, he couldn't make it to work. He lost that job and couldn't find another one for years.
I think I want to avoid places asking for a resume and/or a job application be filled out.
Time to find different ways of making money.
