Italy vote - stays with establishment.

Italy voted today, 4 December, 2016, for changes in their constitution and a new President. Sadly, seems they have chosen a true establishment man instead of a candidate comfortably on the right. At least the vote is reasonably close, reflecting there is widespread anti-establishment sentiment in Italy, but it obviously isn't sufficiently strong to elect a right wing candidate.

I'm sorry. The loser would have tossed another log on the fire for the demise of the EU, something I believe firmly to be for the benefit of all. The man in place is a globalist, very pro-EU, very pro immigrants. I'm surprised he won. Yuck.

Still, all is not lost. There will be another election next year, and since the party in power has won by a very small margin, the losers today will have another very good chance if the winners don't get a move on to attack some of the problems. Italy is not happy with the euro currency. Banks have horrid debtors that will never pay up, and the economy stinks. Unemploy, ent is rife. And illegal and legal migrants are creating havoc and there are many more on the way.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
