Sanctuary Cities...punishment?

First, there has to be a penalty for those state and city entities which refuse to obey federally mandated regulations which enable our nation to govern and have some sense of control over people entering our borders. The new federal administration must begin by enforcing the laws already on the books regarding immigration, and penalize states like California and cities within, that flagrantly refuse to comply with the rule of law through maintaining "sanctuary cities". This penalization should begin by withholding federal funding normally received by the state for whatever purpose, wherever possible.

If necessary, action should be taken to hold accountable the people responsible for letting the laws go unenforced in the first place.

The rule of law has to be restored somehow. If legal citizens are required to follow this rule of law, it's imperative that all be made to comply with immigration laws that were once enforced universally and nationwide.

It achieves only chaos in the public perception if the laws are not enforced equally. It's the encroaching liberal mindset that has caused the laxity in respect for national law and eroded the sense of security for our citizens.
