I've not been to the border in awhile. What I am hearing from my BP friends is the troops are indeed in a support role. Observation, laying concertina, repairing sections of fence, etc. But no direct interdiction. Efforts intended to free up more agents from admin roles to field duty. Not saying if it's working out as they'd like.......
Gonna ask a couple of them how come the 855th and 856th MP companies haven't been temporarily transferred to Homeland Security and deputized as BP agents. One of the BP agents is a lawyer by training; just prefers being an agent. He'll be able to give me the layman's answer.
Do we have eyes & ears @ the border?
