It has been said that China is poised to overtake the US, as the World's economic superpower. How might this affect us? They have been acquiring HUGE stockpiles of gold. Could they, one day, replace our position as the World's reserve currency with a Yuan, backed by gold?? All we can offer is debt. IMO, this could be a disaster. Maybe we would experience inflation, similar to Venezuela. 4000%, or something like that.
I wonder how probable this scenario could be. How would Americans cope with something like this?
