"Muslim kicked off Delta flight for speaking Arabic" was fake news

It was all over social media this morning: a video of a middle-eastern looking, English-speaking man on an airplane claiming he was being kicked off a Delta Airlines flight for talking to his mom in Arabic on the phone. He put the video on Twitter and begged viewers to spread the video, which they obediently did.

It was a lie.

The outrage came hard and fast... because no one bothered questioning or even researching the video. The video only shows him slowly walking down the aisle and loudly complaining about being kicked off "for speaking Arabic" (his words) but it doesn't show any of the events that led to his being kicked off. Delta Airlines spoke with the other passengers on the flight and the supposed "victims" were actually yelling and causing a scene and that’s why they got kicked off.

This is Delta’s statement:

Quote:

Upon landing the crew was debriefed and multiple passenger statements collected. Based on the information collected to date, it appears the customers who were removed sought to disrupt the cabin with provocative behavior, including shouting. This type of conduct is not welcome on any Delta flight. While one, according to media reports, is a known prankster who was video recorded and encouraged by his traveling companion, what is paramount to Delta is the safety and comfort of our passengers and employees. It is clear these individuals sought to violate that priority.
He's done provocative airplane videos before. In one, he videoed himself and a friend somberly staring into the camera and counting down from ten in Arabic on a commercial flight getting ready to depart. His friend was initially uncomfortable with the stunt but he laughed and convinced his buddy by calling it a "social experiment." The camera recorded more than one alarmed passenger near them. He and his friend laughed at them, mocking one (white) passenger by trying to get him to repeat Arabic words.

The guy in these videos - not going to give him more notoriety by mentioning his name - is a self-proclaimed "YouTube star," which tells you his sanity is questionable right there. He has staged other videos in order to create fake "Islamophobia." One shows him and a friend being frisked on the street by a NYC police officer because they were wearing traditional middle eastern clothing... but the "cop" was actually a paid actor. He doesn't mention that in the video, of course.

His lies don't stop there. He has other videos of "faked" pranks, for lack of a better term, like one where he claimed to successfully fly illegally in the baggage hold from Melbourne to Sydney. The video shows him climbing in and out of a suitcase but security tape from the airport shows him boarding the flight like any other passenger.

Testing? Desensitizing? That's exactly what he's doing, just like "clock boy," the Muslim kid who brought a clock that looked like a bomb into a Texas high school back in September, 2015. Keep your eyes open and your critical thinking skills sharp.
