Advice sought on how to proceed

Hello Kev,

I am brand new to the forum and before I participate on any threads I want to explain my reason for joining and ask your opinion.

I am a stone mason and project manager who has taken early retirement (due to tendon injury) to build a fort/stronghold in the Cody area of Wyoming. This has been a dream for a decade now. “Fort Rubicon” will be a SHTF stronghold that will safely shelter 100 member RV's and their occupants. I am scouting property bordering state land for good hunting and fishing capabilities, that has arable soil, good clean water and geological/tactical advantage. I want to find 100 good people and their families to join — this will provide the safety of numbers and support that will be necessary to ride out the requisite 12-month danger period following any SHTF event. In a SHTF scenario, members will drive their RV's directly from their home location to Fort Rubicon where they will gain access via verification and a unique key. The Fort will then be locked down once all members are safely in situ. Until such an event, members will congregate once or twice a year at the Fort to meet for a long weekend, discuss issues/upgrades, BBQ, restock their stores, and bond with one another. Members can live there year-round as soon as the Fort is complete. Needless to say construction will have a standard RV-park construction cost and I propose a membership buy-in per person (min 400/max 600 persons and max of 100 RV’s). The budget raised from member buy-in will cover the cost of purchasing the ideal land parcel and building the fortified stronghold that will house all 100 RV’s (think Scottish castle with walls incorporating 2 corner towers with merlons, crenels & barrel-slits, a moat, a gatehouse, store houses, central meeting hall, wells, a chapel if required, hookups/plot allocations for 100 RV’s and septic). There will also be an outer perimeter fence. The arable area within the perimeter fence will have livestock, chickens and agricultural plots and will be landscaped with tree groves. For the duration of any SHTF event, the Fort will sustain all inhabitants and provide safe sanctuary until such time that people decide they’d like to venture out.

Please know this is not a scam or scheme but an authentic project. I am in preliminary talks with local architects with regards to drawings, zoning and planning permission. I would like to invite memberships over the next 2 months and begin building this summer, with completion by next Spring.
