I know lots of people who are envious of my financial situation.
Few willing to go through years of living frugally, driving beater cats, saving for things, etc.

Quite a few years ago I tried to explain to one buddy that wanted to go do some activity that I hadn't budged for.... that the REASON I "Always had plenty of money" (his words) was that I was careful with it.

He didn't get it.
Later he made $300k+ contracting in oraq.
Took him <2 years to blow through it all l, last I heard he was working in a dairy...
