How Two Organizations Handled Demands by the Left

I heard two very different stories on the radio this morning. Two organizations were under pressure from the organized left. I think the two stories are very instructive.

First, the Philadelphia police department is under a lot of pressure for arresting two black men for trespassing who refused to leave a Starbucks last week. Well, after a week of protests and media coverage, the commissioner of police showed up at a rap concert last night. He took the stage and apologized for 200 years of racist policing and vowed to make sure it never happens again. As expected, he was booed off stage.

Second, Wells Fargo was under pressure from the National Teacher's Union to stop doing business with the NRA. Wells Fargo released a statement that they won't choose their customers based on politics.

What will happen now?

The Philadelphia police will now be the target of ever increasing demands because they blinked. The left is never satisfied. There is nothing anyone can ever do to appease them - ever! The police have now become an easy target for demands by the mob. And, not only has the Philly police lost to the left, they've lost any respect they had from the right. Lose Lose.

Wells Fargo will never receive any sort of demand again. No group wants to loose the standoff and Wells Fargo showed that it won't give in to the mob. They also managed to do so without making anyone mad by not choosing sides.

Too bad so few American companies know how this works.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
