However, at the end of this month, I'll be sixty-nine years old, and military rifles can take a toll on old geezers- they did me... So, in looking for alternatives to the generally accepted military fodder, I went with the Falkor Defense Omega in 6.5 Creedmoor. It shoots farther, flatter, faster, and more accurately, than the venerable 7.62X51... Recoil, before putting in a hydraulic buffer system, and affixing a suppressor, is on par with a .243. Adding the other pieces of technology, and you have recoil on par with a .22 magnum, and much lower muzzle blast, flash, and report.
I have the only AR10 rifle I've ever wanted, and it may be the last rifle I buy:

When precision has to be bonded to repeatable performance- every time.
The AR10 platform has all the superb ergonomics of the AR15 platform, which is splendidly adaptable/modifiable/and tailorable to nearly any mission, involving either game, or extremely unfriendly people...
The 6.5 Creedmoor comes in many platforms, and is a viable replacement for the 7.62X51 MBR... Think about it, the next time you think of staying with the old technology...
6.5 Creedmoor- try it, you just may like it, and decide to enter the 21st Century...
One&Done
Consider precision rifles as sniper rifles, not related to military calibers...
