Diversity vs 'Commonality' ??

Diversity within the commonality IS actually a strength. Everyone on the same book, even if not the same page or sentence. Same big picture ideas, with varying ways of getting there, compromise is possible without giving up the main ideals. A football team made of ONLY running backs won't win, nor will a team of all linemen. You need them all, and while some are paid more, they are ALL paid well.

Diversity without commonality is a disaster. Some are doing books, some comic books, some Cliff Notes, some watching the movie and no one agrees on what's important or why. Goals are often mutually exclusive, and no one can see any worthwhile compromise, in fact, some are demanding "compromise", when what they really want is capitulation. You've got running backs, left handed frisbee throwers, and marathon runners, we can't even agree on the game, much less work as a team.
