Private sales are legal in my state, but I've never been to a gun show and am wondering how this actually works? I have an enhanced carry permit for my state that waives background checks, but how do I approach a vendor about a private sale? I'd like to have a few guns (other than those that have been in the family for generations) that aren't on record against the future day when we wake up and find that all those transaction records and the guns they represent are tracked down. ...Maybe not in my lifetime, but certainly in my heirs'.
I'll have cash obviously, but how do I go from there purchasing without a record? I know it's legal in my state at gun shows to make a private purchase, but is it something sellers routinely do? Any other show tips appreciated.
