A few pics from my BOL in East Texas.

DefaultA few pics from my BOL in East Texas.

Our family has some land we use for hunting and as our BOL. I have written about it on here before, but its been a while. Our land is raw and it has no available electricity. WHen I first began going up there as a kid there wasnt even a pah to get to the property. It was a minimum 200 to 300 yard hike through the national forest to get to our property. Eventually we were able to buy out an 11 acre tract of land and build a road and a gate. I am so thankful my grandfather was intuitive enough to purchase our land back in the 1950's for 7,500 dollars. 200 acres worth. Our property is surrounded on 3 sides by national forest. It has a creek that either is running or holds pockets of water all year long. Its covered in great big oak trees and east Texas Pines. We began by building a simple pole barn with recycled corrugated tin. The posts we used was very simple. Pine hearts. When we had three sides built we backed in an old popup camper then walled the front up. We installed and old sink and plumed it outside the building. Last but most important and old wood burning stove. We used this for years until my father bought an old 30 foot travel trailer and pulled it up there and built a roof over it. Two years ago after all of us donating money we had a deep water well installed and a year ago a brand new 24X3o metal building with a dividing wall down the middle. We sleep on one side and park our 4 wheelers and a side by side as well as an old tractor. Below I wll add a few photos of the work we have done at the camp site. I hope we never use it for more than recreation, but if need be through years of my preperation and eventually having my family get on board we will have a longer term place to go..
