Unlike most pricier stuff, here the hand is actually isolated from vibration through the proper use of a stick tang and Kraton handle, and unlike much pricier knives in wimpy 3/16" stock, the 1/4" stock means you won't ever see one broken either... 22 ounces for 9.5" blade , if that's too much the near-identical SP-52 is full flat ground and around 18-19 ounces.
It out-chops everything, including stuff costing in the thousands. The sheath is nylon with pouch and quite acceptable.
And again no, he won't break it.
