Excellent choice. Propane lasts forever as long as you can keep it in the can. If I had money I would get multiple 1000 gallon buried tanks with isolation valves. I cook on propane and have used propane lights and refrigerators/freezers.
Make sure to get the natural gas jets for your stuff if you can. You can make methane, lots harder to make propane.
