Eveready Dolphin

The Eveready Dolphin has been the go to light for boaties, fishermen and campers for longer than I've been alive. In its latest iteration the Dolphin boasts a 200 lumen output with a claimed runtime of 65 hours.

I bought one the other week from Bunnings for under $20 and popped in a new 6v battery I had at home already. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. The output is about spot on and the beam is much smoother and spread out than previous models, but still throws light a long way.

Compared to an old incan bulb it's like shining the Sun at night. There's no comparison whatsoever. Imagine going from an old Datsun 120Y to a VY Commodore. Sure they both move you from A to B, but one does it just so much better than the other.

If you're in need of a decent, cheap light that'll work in the rain, I'd highly recommend it. Just be sure to spend the extra cash on a decent alkaline battery and stay away from the carbon zinc rubbish.
