Long Lasting Food (RSA)

I am a fan of canned food. It literally cannot go off. It might taste a little bit different, but I have never been sick from it. No oxygen = no degradation, almost. In 1997, as a dare, I ate old bully beef that was made in 1932 (same block can). It was perfect. In fact, I have yet to find any canned food gone off.

Canned food is a winner. Next is white rice. White rice can keep for hundreds of years - if not in the sun or the rain, or humidity and/or pests. Solution: Bury 100/200/500 kg in a metal drum.

For Vit-C make pine tea. Obviously it does not occur here naturally, but in SA we grow pine rather successfully in the plantations. Many conifers in gardens. The species we grow have less tanon and ammonia generally. You can drink the tea to avoid scurvy, but only 3 times a month. If you cannot find pine you can, only twice, make yellowwood tea.

Please add any long lasting simple (RSA) foods you can think of.
