Problems receiving PM's via USPS priority mail

I may be looking at having to go through a claims process due to pkg.
falling off the tracking radar screen. Information contained in email from the seller regarding this matter seems to imply that the claim will rest soley with the USPS, and not under insurance extended by the seller, as their company information implies. Anybody travelled this road ?
