crazy pond stocking ideas

We will be building a small 1 acre pond on our BOL and want to use it for a food source. I have looked at the normal bluegill, bass, and channel cat option but want a more constant harvest. I can stock various creek minnows and crayfish with traps to help with out much effort.

Option #1...is the bass, bluegill , and a few channel catfish deal. Likely to be over harvested in a short time. Its recommended by most.

Option #2....Bluegills, minnow, crayfish, Green Sunfish, and Bullheads. The last two will reproduce quickly and get to decent eating size quickly. Plus they can survive about anything. I doubt 2 people can over harvest.

Option #3...Flathead catfish, bluegills, minnows, crawfish, green sunfish. I like the taste and texture of flathead. Harvest them at 2 to 4 pounds.

Option #4....Channel catfish with bluegill and supplemental stockings of minnows and crawfish.
