Hey from Winnipeg

Hey Everyone,

Names Josh but chose the name Nansen as a user name as it is the last name of my favourite explorer Fridtjof Nansen.

I am not sure I would yet consider my self a "Survivalist", however I love getting into the outdoors and exploring. I also seem to have a fear of not being prepared for things. I like to plan for things going wrong mostly for when heading out into the woods so I often seem to bring more than the average person. Not an excessive amount of things, but extra things that some people seem to not think about ( needle and thread for example... how does one not pack this!!!)

I have taken a 30 day survival course in utah, 2 years of college in a program called outdoor leadership (I call it professional camping), and guided white water canoeing and rafting trips up in the Northwest Territories in the Nahanni National Park.

I am by no means an expert and can't wait to bounce ideas around with people.

Currently planning on getting my -40 degree sleeping bag out and heading into the woods for an over night over the christmas break!

Any other winter lovers on here?
