Earthquakes predicted to double in 2018

Apparently there is a very minor speed change in the earths rotation.
Examining data from 1900 on, this minor variation has coincided with increased earthquake activity. We are just finishing a 5 year speed change and as many as 20 major quakes are predicted for next year, mostly near the equator though.
