I remember that from a few years back. Some humanitarian aid plan to put them in villages in third world countries. They were intended to be run off PV panels on the roof and/or wind mills and surrounded by cisterns for rain and dew (interesting plan for that) collection.

It would seem, they did not get enough sponsors and have gone "commercial".
