Received Class Action Settlement - What Preps to Buy?

It's actually for my 10 year old son. I'd like to invest in something to keep him safe in an emergency.

A pharmaceutical company was caught putting less fluoride in a pill than was stated on the label. The company had to pay $15.5 million to settle the suit. Once the lawyers got their cut and it was divided among the people in the class action, my son got a check for $4.06.

I don't want to squander a windfall like this.
