Which was they had a ½ dozen sturdy rat traps with them evading capture & without them, in all likelihood might not survived, e.g., died from starvation.
With that in mind, over time I tested the feasibility of using rat traps to catch rodents, chipmunks, squirrels, birds etc. Which, with only minor modification, proved to be very effective.
Pigeons, seagulls & rats are very easy catches. Grouse, quail & pheasants take better planning/setting, but nothing extraordinary.
Simply drill a few well positioned small holes in the traps wooden platform. So you can tether it to a tree, bush or any fixed object with cordage, wire or a screw. Then treat the traps with something like Thompson’s deck type water seal, or any weather proofing paint, to prolong their lifespan outdoors.
Rat traps are inexpensive ($1 each @ Dollar stores, as shown below). They are relatively compact, flat, very lightweight; easy to set, and strong enough break your fingers.
Nor, is it difficult to find/forage bait.
In particular, very effective in urban, woodlands & jungle/swamp E&E type survival. Not to mention, handy to have around your home, farm & BOL, as rodents are always a threat to your seed & food supplies.
5 @ $5 I believe is money well spent.

Some examples of recent confirmed bias are the removal of Donald Trump from the search "Presidential candidates". Another was an attempt to delink any search for hillary clinton and indicted.
There are many many more. I figure I am a small number but if more people decide to protest their annoyance of this enough will reduce web traffic and like all businesses will only care about the bottom line.
If we don't change our behavior, then we can't expect google to change theirs...
Just when I thought Trump was heading in the right direction, I see this! There is no question to me now that either this man is beyond stupid or is really trying to sabotage his own campaign on purpose. The Democrats are hitting the campaign trail this weekend right after the DNC convention in a ferocious arsenal of attacks against Trump and the Republicans. For the life of me, I cannot tell which side Trump is on. It looks like he is joining the Democrat's bombing campaign by giving them the ammunition needed to attack his campaign. Can someone please tell me what I am missing here. How is this in anyway politically smart?
It looks like Hillary hit the nail square on the head. Trump was easily baited and resorted to personal stereotypical alludes to the family of a fallen hero. She is right. This man is not temperamentally sound to be president. The proper response should be: "I thank them for their son's service and the sacrifice made for this country" instead of trying to create some sort of comparing contest. That is it and leave it alone. Again he allows the small petty attacks to side track him and get off message while the Democrat's anti Trump campaign is evolving every day and creatively painting a scary picture of him with his own help.
Can someone please tell me how this is going to help him?
The wrong man was chosen for this job Republicans!

For the US, electing Trump, or Cruz, or anyone else isn't going to change the way judges rule, either here or abroad. Common sense isn't just uncommon, it's almost non-existent. But actually, those judges know how unjust their decisions are; they simply do it to support their greater agendas of turning the people into a labor force to serve the self-proclaimed elite.
So what do you think, in the next 5, 10, 20, 50 years, will it take to put things right again? How long do you think it will take? Or are we simply doomed to an age of unreason?
To me, I think it's a long-term struggle. Maybe it happens in the next 50 years but I also fear the masses won't wake up for even longer than that and it will take 50 years from when they wake up.
There is really only one hope, I think: we vote out every single congress person, whether we think they're doing well or not. We do it for a few elections straight until Congress gets the message that it is us for whom they work.
Even then, to do that, we have to deal with the addiction to government services. Is it possible to educate people out of poverty? I don't mean school; I mean to make them understand there are better options for them?
I'm afraid that if we can't do those things we're in for a hundred or even more years of a Robocop society. If that happens, how do we get out of it?
There is even an NcStar dump pouch that seems a bit larger.

Since the Democrats and their nominee have espoused the Anti Gun Platform inclusion (Along with "If you like your Gun/2nd Amendment you can keep your Gun" in Convention speech ) the telegraphing to unleash the MSM has left the gate . An almost hourly rundown of Shootings/Police Shootings ( in normal line of duty or otherwise has begun . with roughly 100 days until the Election there is plenty of potential anti Gun propaganda to propagate ...

Hi, my name is Reality Begins and I am a complete addict to food preserving.
It all started earlier this year when I was given an All American 915 pressure canner. It looked so nice on the pantry shelf, all shiny and pretty beckoning for me to use it.
My first experience was chicken breast! Turned out so tender I had to get more!
Well, I've done chicken, split pea soup, pork, beef, hamburger, beans, baked beans, orange marmalade, strawberry jam, apple jam, cherry jam, blue berry jam and so on in just the past couple of months.
All in big batches!
Man, I have got it bad folks...
I can't even go to the grocery store without drooling over all the pretty Ball jars and accessories...
I try my best to ignore that isle! It just won't leave me be! It call me over every time! Lol
My mom saw how addicted I was and enabled me with a new All American 941 pressure canner.
Now I constantly look for things to can, especially big batches!
Doing a stew tomorrow and on Sunday one bushel of green beans fresh from the farmers market.
Scraping up change to get the next box of canning jars, to can just a little more, it never ends...
What's to become of me when I finally get that Excalibur food dehydrator?!
Welcome to the addicts group for food preservation. Sorry if it already exists. If it does, please feel free to delete this thread!
1) Discourage early voting/voting by mail. This prevents ballots being "lost" in the mail and other mischief as those ballots will be sitting around for quite a while.
2) Possibly involving law enforcement as monitors at polling stations. Their main function will be to monitor technicians who come in to do "maintenance" on the machines during voting hours. There has been documented evidence that these technicians can actually wipe out the results on a machine by flipping a switch. Police can ascertain their identitiy and monitor what they are doing.
3) Educating county leaders to the problem and asking them to insure that voting results are known at each precinct before the results are sent to the county registrar's office. This prevents shenanigans from happening at the latter.
I would like to have a backpack that would accommodate MY folding 16-c. It's about 26 long folded. I'd like to have that capability integrated in to my car get home bag, which I not yet purchased. I"d also like to have it not scream "hay that guy is carrying a rifle!" I'm not sure anything like this exists but it would be great to have the option. I'm thinking about buying a black or or other dark color.
