Review of the best two-week survival food buckets

We spent 180 hours reviewing popular freeze-dried emergency survival food buckets on The Prepared. (We're not a merchant, this is an independent review on our own time and dime.)

Free food giveaway until Wed 22nd: To celebrate their recommendation as the best bucket, Emergency Essentials is giving away $2,100 worth of the winner to seven people. Free and easy to enter. Details in article.

The new EE Premier bucket is the best for most people.

We base everything around two weeks, since that's the self-reliance in your home minimum. The Premier bucket can cover one person for two weeks at 1,900 calories per day for $130. Or two people for two weeks with 3 buckets at a generous 2,700 calories per day.

We also like the Legacy Foods bucket for vegetarians, and the Patriot Pantry fruit, veggie, and snack tote as a nutritional supplement to any core kit.

To preempt expected comments: Many of you preserve, can, grow, keep bags of rice and beans, etc. That's great. But there are a ton of people who just want to buy something complete and off the shelf, stick it in their closet, and be covered for two weeks in case a hurricane hits. This post is specifically for them.

First new thread from us -- some of us have personally been in SB for years (and benefited greatly, much love!), but this is a new project and username. Not an empty shill account. Thanks in advance for the warm welcome, looking forward to contributing in the future.
