The Art of the Tomahawk

I wonder why I see so little interest in the use of the Tomahawk for survival/self-defense.
The tomahawk is quintessential "Americanna" so to speak...it is part and parcel of our collective heritage. The tomahawk is capable of delivering a powerful strike with it's bladed, or pointed head, yet equally capable of disarming an opponent due to its head profile. The tomahawk is made for throwing yet fully capable in close quarters combat, and it's light...easy to carry.

So why do so few seem to grasp it's advantages? It IS a serious killing weapon dating from the earliest days of American history. When considering all the things one might include in a "BoB" a tomahawk seems essential.

What do you think?
