Portable Fire Starter

I was watching a TV show and a "Infomercial" came on about survival. In it the gentlemen who was on a survival tv show said he kept his cotton & vaseline combination in a 1.5" - 2" cut piece of straw that he heat crimped on the ends. To keep the materials from getting wet and he just slit the long run of the straw to open it up to light a fire.

Thought it was a good idea. You could do that and keep 10 or so fire straws in a pack pretty easy. Thought I would pass it along.
