The Chicken Farmer

A man who had high hopes of being the biggest chicken farmer in his parts bought a large ranch. Then he went to the Farmer's Co-op and purchased 5,000-day old chicks. He came back many times over the next few weeks and kept buying another 5,000-day old chick. Finally, one day when the chicken farmer came into the Co-op to buy more chicks the clerk said to the man,

"Wow, you're going to have the largest chicken farm in these parts with all of those chicks you have bought."
The chicken farmer eyed the man and then said,

"Yes, but I think I'm doing something wrong?"

The clerk said, "How's that?"

The chicken farmer replied, "I'm either planting them too deep or too close together."
