Do they make just propane generators?

A neighbor mentioned one generator wouldn't support two residences using it at same time without multiple breakers?

Would only use for meet freezers, lights, and a space heater each

DEPENDING on the distance between the residences, it may not serve either one well if the gen is centrally located. Distance kills power, cheap extension cords kill power. Do not spend $500-1000 bucks on a gen and then use extension cords from Wallyworld using 8 18 braided line to run your refrigerator all daisy chained together.

Breakers do not give you more energy, it is just a gate as to whether or not the juice can flow on THAT line. Multiple breakers will do NOTHING to enhance capability except limit what line the breakers are on.

Instead of getting one BIG generator and fighting over it, get 2 smaller ones and each keep one and save the fights when one wants to use more than "his share"

Otherwise, if you need to run the usual house crap like a fridge and freezer and microwave etc, without doing a LOT of plugging and unplugging and planning you will need at minimum 4000 watts on your own side and be better with 6000.
also
the ratings on gens are their SURGE or start up capacity, not their running capacity.
my 11,000 is SURGE, but it runs at around 8000.

another thing, you always want more generator than what you figure on paper as "all you need" things come up, things happen and all of a sudden you will have to choose, no hot food or lose the freezer or no air if a warm state...

Figure what you need, then double it and buy your own and tell the neighbor to do the same, because if one dies, now you at least have a backup to share, that is if you and your neighbor are still speaking to each other.
