Homemade mouse trap: super-simple, and cheap (practically free)

Get a 5-gallon bucket.

Put a blob of peanut butter in the bottom of the bucket.

Get something to make a ramp. I use a piece of scrap lumber. Set up the ramp so one end of it rests on the top edge of the bucket and the other end rests on the floor.

Next morning: Mouse in bottom of bucket can't get out!

Take the mouse for a ride in the bucket. I mean, just pick up the bucket by the handle and carry it. Go somewhere far away from your house. Tip the bucket on its side so the mouse will run out.

I like this because it's more humane and less messy than the wooden traps with springs. Also, the mouse can't abscond with the bait without being trapped, which sometimes happens with the wooden traps.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
