Useful Solar Stuff Suggestions

So far, I've tried a solar powered radio and carefully chose one with good ratings. It was really disappointing. It would be in strong light and only work for a little while if at all. I am a radio addict and keep one going in every room all tuned to the same channel so I don't miss anything. Solar radios would have been a big plus if they actually worked.

I also got a solar charger. Its ratings weren't great, but I found it at a yard sale for a few bucks, so I gave it a try. After sitting outside for a whole day it was able to charge and recharge my phone for almost 3 days. Great!

The solar powered movement lights are also a disappointment. The one on the porch works great, but the one on top of the clothesline where it's never in shadow and the one on the side of an out building that is also in the sun all day rarely come on, and then only in the early morning if at all.

The charger is useful. What other solar items actually do work and are useful, and are not just interesting toys? Has anyone tried a solar watch? I used a solar oven back in the 80's, and bought another one second hand but haven't tried it yet.
