Cans go bad.
The expiration date is just a guesstimate...
If I have a can that's past it's due date, and is otherwise unaffected... I eat the munchies...
At the same time.... I opened a can of corn last month which had a funny colour, and a tangy-off taste... But was nowhere near the expiration... Into the compost it went.
