Hiking staff with copper tip attract lightning?

So, I'm in the middle of making a hiking staff and I planned on making it with a copper tip. Then it hit me. If I'm hiking (maybe in the mountains somewhere) and there is a pop-up thunderstorm, would that copper tip get me electrocuted? (ie. if there is a lot a of electricity in the air, would that attract lightning?)
