Why won't Obama endorse Hillary?

Why won't Obama endorse Hillary? That question had been rambling around in my mind for a little while when a simple thought passed through. I don't know if it's true, untrue, or has an element of truth.

"Obama is a Muslim. Hillary is a woman."

Seemed like it sorta 'clicked'.

As Secretary of State, Hillary was an annoyance, perhaps, but still a subordinate in Obama's eyes. Endorsing her for an equal wouldn't sit well, I wouldn't think.

Could it really be that simple?
