The Erskine fire has destroyed 200 homes and killed 3 people who couldn't get out in time. It is currently only 5% controlled. TEOTWAWKI hasn't come yet and may not any time soon. Widlfires happen all the time. Twenty five million dead trees in the Sierras and another 10 million in SoCaL with an ongoing drought ensure that lots more will be happening for the foreseeable future.
