Definition of "Assault Weapon"

The 2nd Amendment is not granted by government but by founding documents intended to restrict government and outline inalienable rights of citizens. Our culture of government is a lot different. We do not tend to see government as a provider or caretaker but rather an administrator. Government officials are servants, not the other way around.

As far as "assault weapons", there was no such thing until it was invented by gun control advocates as a pejorative term for a "scary" looking gun. You will notice if you look over legislation that only gun control advocates or those who have been influenced by them use that term seriously. The true definition seems different depending on what state is defining them and what particular level a gun control activist operating at. Typically it is a firearm with a pistol grip, removable magazine, flash suppressor, possibly a bayonet lug, semi-automatic and most importantly it must have a scary military look to it.
