Anti-Theft measures in city living?

Thefts are the most frequently occuring issues for me in cities, with lots of undocumented workers and higher density of pickpocketing and thefts at places such as airports, restaurants, offices, trains etc.

what are some things you have bought to prevent this?

I personally carry lot of number locks for my bags but thinking of buying some anti theft locks for jackets so if anyone pulls wallet or stuff out of my clothing, it rings an alarm.
