308 bolt action

I No longer have a 30 Cal hunting rifle so I'm in need of another one. I really prefer a rifle with with open sights that is easily scoped. My LGS has a 1980s Ruger 77 308 with a Burris 6x scope mounted in top for $660, but I can also get a Savage Hog Hunter NIB for less than $500. I'm also open to other options like the Ruger GSR but for a hunting rifle I really prefer a fixed mag or a hinged floor plate.
