elec oven element "went out"

Got home and mother mentioned the bottom elment went out,the top one worked fine.
I assume either its not getting power,or its burned out.
Older whirlpool built into the cabinets.
Can't get to it till sunday,so haven't looked at it or googled yet.
Any tips,hints,tricks,how to test before I spend hours searching?
