My own hatred of Windows 10

I could write on this for days but will try to keep it short. A few months ago the old PC finally died. Intel i7-860 processor with 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD. Don't know if there was something in an update of Windows 10 Pro that corrupted the SSD or the SSD was going TU. Bottom line the damn thing kept crashing and files got corruputed. Long short was a PITA to recover. So decided to do the unthinkable and buy COTS instead of building my own (had only bought one other new PC for myself years and years ago).

So off I go, bought and HP Pavilion 570-p020 with an i5-3GHz chip and 8GB RAM. The PC actually has decent reviews and for what I'm using it for it is fine. Bought an extra 8GB of RAM to go with it. Oh, it also came with Windows 10 Home and not Pro. I should have bought a new Pro disk and reimaged it. That turned out to be a mistake. More on that in a bit. Also decided to upgrade from Office 2010 64bit to Office 2016. What a HUGE mistake that was. An absolute POS and the interfaces are horrible. I wished I could have gotten my money back. Even gave it terrible reviews. *ugh*

So today, the 2nd 8GB memory chip fails. Big time. And sure enough, the crash corrupted the PC. Eff me again......removed the chip, got it to boot, and recovered all of the data. Decided to fresh restore of 10 Home. So far, so good. Still need to reload several of my favorite programs but those can wait. Will also need to buy another 8GB chip. Will go with Crucial when I do; their stuff is listed as fully compatible with the PC. The one that failed was a Patriot and I've had issues with that brand in the past.

Since I was at it, decided to NOT reinstall Office 2016. Instead decided to go back to Office 2010 64bit. Found the CD and went to it. Now it's getting back to the way it was.

Going to be off the grid for a few days; after all the travel I've been doing lately going to go veg in the mountains for a few days. When I get back will order up another memory chip and finish reloading the balance of the software I typically use.
