Allison Hargett, her husband Tyler and their six-year-old daughter Lilly went camping at Detroit Lake State Park on Labor Day

They received an order to evacuate at about 1am Tuesday as the Beachie Creek Fire encroached on their campgrounds

The family made it about 20 miles before their car ran out of gas

Thankfully their friends were on the road in front of them and took them home.

Allison filmed several videos from the car which showed the forest enveloped by an eerie orange glow as flames consumed trees and embers fell from the sky."
