We Always think of terror attacks as taking over airliners, dirty bombs, gas and poison attacks, or bio-weapon attacks. However, something struck me the other day when I was watching another "Special forces in the middle-east rescuing someone and having to shoot it out and run" type of movies.
In all of the movies they have the taliban etc come busting into a street or small village in a number of pick-up trucks and deploy and start offing people.
It struck me that that could be a scene HERE in the US! People at a city celebration, at a theater, in a park, etc and all of the sudden 2 - 4 pick-ups show up with terrorists with their heads and faces covered with their rag-hats/face coverings and just start shooting into the crowd and tossing explosives!
We always think of terrorist attacks in terms of secretive, after dark, or small cells operating alone, but what do you think the probability is that they start attacking large crowds like they do in their native countries, then just fading away and scattering to the four winds only to regroup and attack again?
This has put me a little more on edge about terrorist threats, especially after Saudi-Arabia and the UK have started warning us that there's terrorist cells already in the US. And these terrorists have nothing to lose and everything to gain from attacks of this nature. A low tech approach like this is cheaper, less planning, and more terrifying as it could happen any time, any where!
