Seeds ,what edible plants or vegetables regenerate

Hi all, I was thinking about getting some seeds that would grow food that would make seeds inside its self so I could use those seeds to grow the food again the next year . What is the best and fastest growing food or vegetable that does this . Sorry if this is a stupid question I'm not a farmer . Thanks
