I was privileged this morning to be present at the birthplace of "the star spangled banner". Today is its 200th anniversary and I am where it happened.
For those that dont know, the event that inspired it is well worth reading about. Our nation on an unsteady and dark precipice. The flames of a burning Washington visible 35 miles away added to the belief that our rebellion was failing.
The great might of the British naval guns as the pound Ft McHenry towards submission. Come dawn, one symbol remains.
