It has been long in coming apparently, having been watched closely since at least august last year. It is also one of the volcanoes that seems to be more or less continuously active.
So what.....?
It is located about 50 km from the Sendai nuclear power plant that recently restarted its reactor after safety modifications following Fukushima.
Might not be an issue, but for those interested...
