A minimalist, survival game. You won't live long until you build skills or have a lot of luck. Even with luck, you will probably still freeze to death.
If you really want to have fun, play it without watching a teaser or guide. Just download it (Steam) The Long Dark, install, log in. ESC shows your key bindings and figure it out. I recommend that.
It is a game in Alpha and if anything... that makes it better.
